Retained as CRO by a $90 million, regional chain of diagnostic centers located in the northeast, Buccino was able to guide an ailing company toward a successful turnaround, recapitalization of the business and repayment of former lenders in full. A provider of a full line of MRI, X-ray and related medical diagnostic services, the company was highly leveraged and had a history of poor collections on billings. Buccino effectively modified administrative paperwork procedures as patients entered the centers, shut down selected unprofitable units, and reduced unneeded administrative overhead—leading to a significant improvement in collections and improved cash flow and profitability.
